Harriet & Jack

I know, this picture looks like one of those vintage ones taken
in the early 70s' and scanned in for preservation sake.
But it's really only 10 1/2 years old.
On Sunday, September 6th the twins turned 11 years old.
We didn't have any special plans, and we haven't had
a "friend" party for them in several years.
Luckily this year Disneyland
has been running a promotion where
everyone gets free admission to the park on
their birthday. Auntie CD knew this was too good
of a deal to pass up - three for the price of one -
and she flew down for Labor Day weekend
to take Harriet and Jack for the day.
Instant birthday celebration!
theme ice cream, funny hats, Matterhorn
"that's a big mouse!"
view of Space Mountain in the distance.

In the heat of the day CD took them to the
Blue Bayou Restaurant which is located at
the beginning of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
It is like dining on an open porch on a pleasant
evening deep in the Louisana Bayou
watching the boats and their riders float by
(That cute pirate hat flips open to reveal the kid's menu)
Harriet and Jack were given a free
birthday chocolate mousse
complete with candles with their lunch
official birthday picture place
going deep into the heart of Disney darkness
on the Jungle Cruise
they stayed way past the sunset and the fireworks,
leaving at 11:30 p.m., 1/2 hour before the park closed officially
and with Carol Diane, the rockingest aunt ever.
Thank you so much for making the day so special
for Jack and Harriet! I'll see you back here in
a few months for my birthday!

Happy Bday J & H!!! They must've been on every single ride! CD is the rockinest aunt.
Heather, I remember them from that "vintage picture". I can't believe that they are eleven!! Why does it feel like our kids are getting so old, but we are the same age? :)
Wait, Heather: you know Jana?
Worlds are colliding!
Well, holy cow, woman! I've been hearing Jack and Harriet stories for forever, so it is fun to see them growing up. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
