Have you ever seen a Drumline competition?

Well, I hadn't, but I got the opportunity this past Saturday to see Jack and the El Toro Drumline compete in Aliso Viejo.  I wasn't sure what to expect, walking in and seeing some of the costumes and hearing some of the other worldly soundtracks of the other competing schools.

But when Jack and his crew took the floor it was clear they were the absolute best, and you can take that straight from me, his mother.

Now, technically, the show is copyrighted and video cameras weren't allowed, but they were letting us record with our phones and little cameras.  I've posted it on youtube but kept it private, for those viewers with the link, so enjoy the performance but don't report me.

Jack is playing the bass drum, and Harriet, who actually filmed the footage, did a great job of keeping him center to the frame most of the time, while not jerking or moving the camera around a lot.

They are in the middle of their competition season, and every performance they add on a bit more of the show that they have perfected.  Saturday's performance was their 2nd of the season, so their show is just under four minutes long, and will get progressively longer as the season wears on.

So, here is Jack and the El Toro Winter Drumline and their performance of Lost:
