The sun'll come out....oh nevermind.

Monday July 20th was a beautiful, hot,
SUNNY day in St. George, Utah.

We take advantage of the weather
and go for a hike in the red rocks
near the condo.

It's warm enough to need a break

taking advantage of some steps
carved into the rock

Look at that beautiful blue sky!

Looking for a shady spot

Sure, some clouds roll in while we are in the pool this afternoon,
but it is southern Utah in the middle of summer.

As we start to dress for the evening's activity,
a trip to the outdoor theater Tuacahn
to see the musical "Annie", the wind outside
begins to really blow....

There are a couple of drops on the windshield
during the drive to the amphitheater,
but nothing to really worry about, right?

Cooling off in the stone carved river at Tuacahn's entrance
(and in the light sprinkle of rain falling)

a photo with the poster before we head
up to get our tickets from will-call

okay, its raining a bit harder but the
kids keep on a happy, optimistic face
(that's the Annie way!)

posing with the life-size poster
before buying our treats for the show...

here's the set...
our seats are great! we are excited for this show!
our snacks are yummy!

Why is it raining!!?!!!

And here's the last photo we took before the show started....
for about two minutes.

Then they turn off the sound,

and the lights,

and announce,

"due to hazardous weather conditions,

and for the safety of the audience and the performers,

tonight's production of "Annie"

has

been

cancelled."

(despite our hard-knock experience,
I would still highly recommend
a visit to Tuacahn on your next
stop through St. George)

That is so unfair!

But you made a great pun-filled post out of it!

I love Jed-dy Warbucks :) And that hot hike looks awesome too! Utah Rocks!

We love taking our kids to Tuacahn every summer too! We need to meet up next summer! We are planning our trip for September. I'm sorry you got rained out! Sometimes it is a "Hard Knock Life".
