It seems that 'round here lately there has been a lot going on, and yet not much of significance happening at all.
Yet, in an attempt to not appear lazy and uninspired, I am compelling myself to put up a post on the family blog.
So here, in no particular order, are some of the interests and activities that we have found ourselves involved in the past few weeks.

Our family was invited to Pete's fabulous
(now former) boss Lisa's surprise birthday party in Garden Grove.
Since she and the kids have previously bonded over their shared love of the show Phineas & Ferb, we decided that each of the kids would make her a drawing of their favorite character. Henry drew Phineas, Jed drew Ferb, Harriet drew Doofenshmirtz,
and here's Jack's freehand drawing of Perry the Platypus.
Happy Birthday Lisa!
Pete and Harriet have been invited a couple of times
to the L.A. Galaxy game
by a colleague of Pete's with season tickets.
Each time they are convinced it's going to be Beckham's last game.
There's Beckham in the center;
you can tell him by his tattoo sleeves
This past week much of California participated in the world's largest Earthquake Drill (we're long overdue don't you know) - including the kids at Pete's new school. Pete coordinated the whole thing, and was prepared when the District phoned the afternoon before and said that his school Fremont Elementary had been chosen to represent the District in the preparedness drill to the media in the form of the OC Register who would be out in the morning to cover it for the paper.
Here's a link to the article they wrote, including photos of the kids at the school. I was bummed that Pete didn't get quoted or photo'd, after all the hard work he put into the drill. He made every one of the signs the kids wore indicating their status (i.e. "child not breathing) among many other coordination activities. He was happy with the coverage though, he feels that sometimes the Register comes down too hard on the Santa Ana School District. Pete is so awesome. He also completely masters the school web site - see the link here.
Lastly, Jed & Henry's week long obsession with
Rock Band introduced Survivor's 80's hit
Eye of The Tiger into our household - I managed to
catch one of the many performances on video;
Here's Jed singing, Henry on drums (although I think
they had it programmed just for the singing on this
run)
more to come from the Richardson Family Raconteur soon.....
