Best in Show

With all the amateur hour talent shows coming to their season's end on TV, the Richardson kids wanted to offer up some of their recent public performances for your consideration.

Exhibition #1:   Jed and friends participate in the K-3 division of the La Madera Elementary Talent Show held in the performance hall at El Toro High School.

hmmm, lets see, a construction worker, an indian in full headdress, an army man, a firefighter and a cowboy complete with chaps and hat.
What does this group of characters bring to mind?

any ideas yet?

Here's a big live-action hint:

Exhibition #2:  Remember back at the beginning of the school year, when Jack was voted in as the first Class President in his fifth grade?  Well now at the end of the year he gets a chance to play the father of our country, first president George Washington.  His and Harriet's fifth-grade class performed the historical musical "13 Colonies" for the rest of the school, and Jack was in the starring role.

Martha and George Washington

A clip of Martha and George having a run-in with the "history police"

Harriet's role was as lesser known historical figure
who did a warning ride similar to that of Paul Revere's, yet was
never immortalized in a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

She did, however, perform a singing duet with Longfellow, pictured above

and performed (in part) in this video clip:

big finale "Bill of Rights Boogie"

well done class!
(and thanks for the costume Sue!!)

Henry attending the twins' show - front and center getting a kick out of the whole thing

And finally Exhibition #3:  Puppet show Pack Meeting - barely worth mentioning but here it is.

In completion of the Webelos Showman Activity Badge, Jack and his small troop wrote and performed a one-act play for our audience. In keeping with this theme our funny Den Leader made paper sack puppets to present to the boys the awards they earned this past month.
