Pretty much every day is a beautiful day in Laguna Beach, and today was no exception.

This afternoon we headed down the canyon to the LB for dinner and to
celebrate a couple of family birthdays.  Porter turned ten while we
were in Utah, and in just a few short weeks our twins will be turning twelve!!

Henry showing Grandma and Grandpa his new Converse shoes
he got at the outlet store in St. George on our trip to Utah.

Before dinner we check out the progress
on the wooden boat grandpa is building in his workshop

Henry and grandma prep the
red snapper bought from the fish shack

The theme of today's dinner is FISH.
Dave took Porter fishing for his birthday and
they caught a couple of bass. They are saving
those to make fish tacos with, but we are
having red snapper, bass, albacore tuna and salmon
for our dinner today.

Dave fillets the snapper while grandma displays
the bluefin fish cake Sue made for the birthday kids

This is also the first time we've seen Kenzie since her return from India!
She spent three weeks volunteering in a leper colony, had an amazing
lifechanging experience, and brought us back this groovy elephant fabric pillow cover.

She also got some sweet henna tattoos on her hands and feet

(Read about Kenzie's experiences on the awesome blog she kept
during her time in India  right here)

Jack and Harriet have a great time examining
Abbie's silly bandz collection before dinner

The birthday kids with their fish cake
and assorted sea creature cupcakes

Soon the fish is grilled and the salad is tossed and its time to eat.
Two cute cousins kicking back.

After dinner the celebration begins!

Jack lights the candles, Harriet blows them out

Birthday cards and presents follow

Harriet, after dinner, in her one of her birthday gift shirts,
getting her hair done by Kenzie - completely happy!

Jack's hair is just long enough for a braid as well.

Happy Birthday Porter, Jack and Harriet!

Thanks family for the fun celebration,
and for the beautiful day Laguna Beach.
