Utah, Day Two

MONDAY -   Today the twins were invited to a birthday party for the daughter of my childhood friend Victoria.  The twins and her oldest are just one month apart, and they've grown up seeing each other on visits when we are in Utah and they are in California.  So it worked out well when she invited us to her younger daughter's swim birthday party at the awesome pool at the Cottonwood Heights Rec Center.

My kids have never been here before, but it quickly became their new favorite Salt Lake discovery.  It's a community swim pool with a water slide, diving boards, and, to Jack's delight, three high dive platforms.

I already had a hair appointment with the most awesome Rachel scheduled for the same time that day, so Pete took all four kids and spent most of the day hanging out with the birthday party group and watching the kids swim and jump.

While all of the kids had fun there, Jack really got a kick out of the diving platforms.  The highest platform was closed, but he reportedly went off of the second highest one multiple times.  Harriet told me she went off the lowest platform, but that it was much higher than it looked from the ground, and didn't feel the need to go any higher!

Pete took some photos and videos with his iPhone:

Jack sailing off the diving platform,
flying through the clouds

Harriet taking her leap, she's the second person that
jumps in the video, you can hear her scream all the way down

Jack in action - he jumps just as the video starts.
(Henry narrates)
Also check out the sweet corkscrew jump
from the guy right before the end.

Off the regular diving board -
Jed with his standard twist, and
Jack with a backflip jump.
