November - all about the H's

November is a full month for us - a lot going on, especially for us H's in the family...

On one of the first nights of November Harriet is kidnapped by the Young Women in our ward.

She's a Beehive, so they dress her up as a bee and take her to a leader's house where they did crafts, ate snacks and watched The Bee Movie.

She had a great time.

To celebrate the birthdays this month we have a picnic in Laguna with open face
tuna sandwiches, tortilla chips and mint icing chocolate cupcakes

Henry's present from grandma and grandpa

After lunch on this amazingly beautiful day we go for a hike in the hills above Laguna

Yes, it was my birthday this month as well.
It kind of got lost in a scout campout, soccer games, a seizure
and shopping at the Spectrum, but we did find time for a small celebration.
Jed woke me up in bed with a breakfast of toast and banana,
and Harriet made me this little basket of goods including a card,
sheet of redeemable coupons, and two bookmarks.
One is decorated with the word "lemonade" and homemade bracelet, and the other is
modge-podged with Mambo wrappers.  So very cool.

Pete and Jack spent three days over the long Veteran's day weekend at
a scout encampment working on merit badge requirements and
climbing a rock wall, among other things.

Harriet and her soccer are still going strong in mid-November.
They played a game this weekend, and are scheduled to play (and practice)
through the 2nd week of December.  I may or may not survive.

Jack and Pete come from the campout straight to Harriet's game
on the afternoon of my birthday - looking good in his new boy scout shirt

Harriet works on posters for a food drive for her honors World History class

Henry celebrates his birthday just three days after mine

for one of his presents he receives the news that when CD comes
next week for Thanksgiving we are all going to Disneyland to
celebrate his birthday - that's when the real party will take place!

Happy Birthday Henry!

On the same night of Henry's birthday we attend
Harriet's first Young Women in Excellence Values evening

She talks about her journal - it's part sketchbook, part writings - for her value project

The following weekend is the boys' make-up soccer game due to rain earlier
in the season - and yes, it rained all morning.  They played a small scrimmage
just for fun with the few players from each team that showed up.

And with that soccer season is over for the Deep Sea Jellyfish Cannons

so aren't you really into Silly Bandz too?
Here's Harriet's all laid out in rainbow order, arranged by color

So, now you are almost all caught up with us.
Next post will be all about Thanksgiving and
the fun with our AUNTIE CD!!!
