All of my boys are very into Legos (that word is probably supposed to follow the "es" plural rule, but I just am not) but Jed seems to be the one with The Knack for it. He will spend hours focused on a creation, the loud, crashy sound of him digging through our two lego bins looking for the perfect pieces are constant music to my ears. While most of our Legos have at one point been part of one set or another, for the most part the fate of Legos in our house these days is Fair Game for whatever.
Besides meticulously following the picture instructions included with most every set to build the intended creation, Jed loves to come up with his own stuff. Mostly this includes starting with a platform, and then building structures on it such as Haunted Houses, Jails, Superhero Lairs, etc. all with their own unique features, which he will tirelessly do a walk-through tour for any audience who asks. Most structures include trap doors or hidden weapons which will spring on the unsuspecting at any time. There is usually also a bedroom with a T.V in it (a strict no-no in our house), a computer, and a garage containing one or more vehicles.
I have several videos of Jed and Henry demonstrating the things they've built for their lego friends. I've chosen this recent one of Jed to share.
I've posted his video on Youtube, so mom, after clicking on the link below, you'll have to click your back button after you've enjoyed the video several times to return to continue reading this blog, if that is what you are so inclined to do.

(don't you especially love the elevator!?!)

I do love the elevator! And that General who-ever is just looking down on the jail place... Jed is awesome. What creative kid :)
I'm impressed that all the other kids weren't poking their heads in for their 2 min of fame. At least, that's what we have happen here whenever the video cam starts to record...
