He loves Legos, but doesn't quite have the vision that Jed does when it comes to his creations, (which is fine, of course). He builds platform creations and simple vehicles and ships (as in things that Luke Skywalker and his cohorts fly around in) but he mostly loves the Lego figures.
Henry also loves to draw - stick figures fighting with colored lightsabers are a specialty of his. He loves to draw stick figures of his school friends and of family members. He loves to take a piece of paper and write down everyone's name that he can think of. With Henry I feel that there is a lot inside of him that wants to come out creative-wise, but sometimes he can't quite make his vision come to life. (I'm familiar with that feeling as well...)
Many of the things that he does are awesome. In our house we don't have a designated "craft time" where I make the kids sit down and draw or sculpt something. We have bins that are full of supplies - markers, crayons, colored pencils, paper, playdough etc. and the kids will sit down and do something whenever they are inspired.
That is how the following pieces were created by Henry - he'll sit down and work on a project, and then always find me to present it.
Here are some samples from Henry's portfolio:

I love this picture - the frame is awesome rainbow,
and I'm not sure why that sun looks so menacing (besides the eyebrows)
(5 years old - colored pencil)

Orange & Red by Henry
he did many pictures like this, just one color filling up the whole page
(around 5 & 6 years old)

This one Henry did a year or two ago - it's one of my favorites.
This is how he explained it to me - with Jed listening intently:
"This is me with Carol Diane. Jed is the little one"
(Jed was definitely NOT happy being the little one, something
Henry was acutely aware of)
In fact, Jed and Henry often take out their frustrations with each other
through pen and paper medium, something that delights me to no end.
They will draw a picture of the other (or write the other's name if they can do it)
and then put a big red circle with a line through it on it (as in No Smoking)
But lately Henry has been leaving me notes on my desk when he and Jed have a disagreement.
Here's his latest submission, made during a recent frustrating game of Lego Indiana Jones on the Wii:
(admittedly Jed can be a bit bossy playing Wii games)Henry also loves to make creations using perler beads placed in frames and then ironed, or a similiar thing with Pixos placed in stencils and then sprayed with water to fuse and dry.
I didn't take any pictures of these, but do have a whole box full of those creations if you care to come by the house and take a look at them.

can we commission Henry to do some artwork for our new home? I kind of want to frame a set of two or four of the solid color prints in our entry way.
