Getting stuff done

The day after our return from Utah is a busy one.  Henry and dad are up early (after Henry and I stayed
up late), off to a sleep-deprived (by instruction) EEG at CHOC.  They are gone all morning, but the rest of us are up and moving as well.
Harriet has her first real appointment on the road to braces today, she needs to have three teeth pulled in order to get her mouth prepared.  She doesn't need to be put under, just given a big old dose of novocaine.  She leaves the appointment three teeth lighter and with a sore mouth.

In order to take the bite out of the appointment (ha ha)
we go directly from the dentist to the
pet store to pick up our Christmas rats. Both Harriet
and Jed come home with new best friends.
(Henry will pick his out later when he can be there).

Harriet's sweet new rat is a welcome distraction from her swollen mouth.
She names her "Hylla" after a character from the Percy Jackson books.

Jed names his rat "J. J.", or, Junior Jed.
(I love it!)

And where has Jack been all this morning?  He was out the door early to attend a Merit Badge
Day at a church in Mission Viejo.  He and Porter attend together but work on different Merit Badges.
Jack earns his Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge, which is his last required
Merit Badge before he can earn his Eagle rank.  So cool.

Not so cool, a mom who takes pictures of you when she comes to pick you up...
("Mom!!!")

Good job Porter and Jack!
