Fall Outing - Spring Awakening

There are so many things I love about this time of the year. I love the cooler weather and the fall festivities and Halloween. My birthday is coming up, as is Thanksgiving, and of course the Christmas holidays. Fall is absolutely my favorite time of year.

Another fun tradition in our family is a fall visit from Carol-Diane! She usually comes mid-October to carve pumpkins with us and take us to Krispy-Kreme for pumpkin donuts, but this year she flies in on Halloween night!

Already hyped up on a school-holiday-trick-o-treat-sugar-frenzy-stay-up-late-Friday Halloween, the kids manage to get even more excited when we pick CD up from the airport, bring her home and raid her suitcase.

Friday:
Carol brought us (yummy?) Halloween treats from Utah!

This entire hot dog is made from marshmallow

We also get some grown-up sister time exploring some of the perks of where we live - a trip up to Los Angeles to go to the theater (complete with a celebrity sighting!) as well as an afternoon in Laguna Beach enjoying brunch on an open air patio overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Saturday:

Spring Awakening at the Ahmanson Theater
(which we also saw on Broadway in January)

CD made this celebrity sighting waiting for our will call tickets - can you identify the woman over her shoulder? (its Jill Clayburgh, maybe you didn't see the movie Silver Streak a million times growing up like I did - CD recognized her from the TV show Dirty Sexy Money)

We ate lunch at this market

Pay toilet on the streets of Los Angeles

Monday:

Overlooking the main beach at Laguna

our delicious post-brunch mango mousse dessert complete with Eiffel tower cookie
and strawberry/raspberry likeness from C'est La Vie Cafe

So, CD, when are you coming next??

Cool. Grown up fun is much needed! Glad you took the time. And, your hair looks really cute. I love it like that.
