Here's how the last week went down for us:

Harriet's entry into the PTA Reflections contest was displayed on the school display wall
(notice her adorable black fingernails from our mother/daughter black fingernail painting bonding activity)Green Geckos End-of-Season Soccer Party at Fuddruckers
(oh how I hate Fuddruckers)

with her teammates

celebratory cake

with her awesome coach -
next up, Winter League Soccer

Jed shares a moment and a photo with our sweet rat Holly
PINEWOOD DERBY 2008
The boys with their cars (and assorted medals/trophies) - Jack raced as a Webelo, the boys in the sibling races

Jed's car was gold #5, and was unbeatable -
he came in first among the 12 sibling racers

He tied for first place in the overall races between the 12 siblings and the 8 Webelos -
but the big trophy for first place could only go to a Webelo

The past two years Jack's car has come in First Place overall - this year he was fourth among the Webelos. He did win "Cubmaster's Choice" for design, but gave the trophy to Henry who was displaying some sibling envy towards Jed and his trophy. That is just one example among the many of what a wonderful older brother Jack is to Jed and Henry.
(Henry's car was fourth among the siblings, pretty impressive, but not good enough for its own trophy)

And lastly, me and my friends doing our best to support LDS author Stephenie Meyer by seeing her movie
Twilight on the second day after it opened (no midnight showings for us old ladies). There were actually 10 of us who came to see it together, but the others took off next door to the Philly Cheese Steak Restaurant for lunch while we lingered for a photo.

That was all in one weekend?
K. I love harriet's nails; Your boys look SO big. Jack is such a great big bro.
I love that your kids all have such unique personalities, and they all fill such perfect roles in the family. :) I love their interaction with one another. I know this is in a big way because of your and Pete's examples.
So, you didn't really say how Twilight was... Although I know where you stand on Fuddruckers :)
This was all last week, the Pinewood Derby (which I didn't actually attend, Harriet and I opted out this year, all photos by Pete) and Twilight were the only things this weekend.
Twilight was a lot of fun - we all cheered when Edward appeared on screen etc. and the movie was actually okay - people are telling me its even better the second time around (probably because you've gotten used to the vampires hair) and I told Jack and Harriet (who are both reading New Moon now) that I would take them after I checked it out.
Fuddruckers has absolutely no redeeming qualities, except for maybe the soda on tap.
Oh yes I am way too old for midnight showings of the movie, but if Edward were to come to my window at midnight, I would get up to let him in--I'm sure he'd want to visit with Chris too at that time! How funny that groups of us 40ish gals all over the country are going to see this movie! Now, I'm just waiting for an excuse to go and see it again. Tiare just turned 9, so she's a little pre-Twilight obsessed age. Darn, now I've got to find someone else to use as an excuse to see it again! Wish you were here so I could go with you all.
